A Pinker Shade Of Autumn

Happy Friday lovelies, here is a simple yet an impactful look from a couple of weeks back. This pink knit was a piece I added to my wardrobe at the beginning of the season. Pink might be more associated with Spring but I happen to think it can be just as lovely in the fall. When it comes to styling pink in the autumn, I personally love how it looks with the warmer tones like these dark camel coloured trousers and the the tanned leather bag. Do you like pink all year round? Have you ever tried incorporating this sweet colour to your autumn pallet?

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Pre-Fall Neutrals

Happy Friday lovelies, before we head into the weekend I just wanted to share this look with you. When we shot these photos, to begin with the lighting was perfect but then just as we were snapping away, it began to get a little busy and so we took a break, I am still painfully shy about the attention taking photos in a small village can sometimes bring, not necessarily bad or verbal attention, I can just feel people staring and it makes anxious, I wish I could overcome that but it is what it is. So yeah by the time we got back to taking the photos it had become significantly darker, but the way lighting was hitting my outfit was pretty awesome, it was making it almost like a blackout behind me and so thankfully we were able to make it work! This cream denim skirt that i’m styling in today’s post is one I have owned for a few years but found that I didn’t really wear it too much, the length was always a bit awkward and so this year I decided to cut it and make it into more or midi style. I much prefer this way and it was instantly more wearable and much easier to style. Though I wore this in the height of summer I save publishing it until now because I felt it had a great pre-fall vibe to it. I always like more neutrals in the lead up to Autumn, i’m the same way in the lead up to Spring, as I find neutrals work perfectly for the inbetween stages of seasons. You may have also noticed the bag and this is the same bag as the one I shared with you here on Lellavictoria back along (see Here) only this is the black version. I did wonder whether it would take the joy out of the bag, having two of the same with the colour being the only variation but I absolutely love both equally and in fact, I think that having two keeps me from become bored of them.

I hope you like today’s look. Sending you love and light for the weekend ahead,

Styling The Waistcoat, The Summer Edition

Happy Wednesday lovelies! A couple of pieces I bought for this summer are waistcoats, I have the one featured in today’s post and also one in navy. I found trying to get the sizing right a little tricky when ordering this, as I didn’t want it to be too fitted nor too large. But thankfully after a lot overthinking, I managed to get it right and I was more then happy with the fit. The one I’m wearing in today’s post was from COS and I think it’s now sold out but I did link a similar one in the photo above.

What I love about waistcoats is that they are such a great alternative to the summer blouse or the basic tee and even though I’m a fan of both of those, the waistcoat is refreshingly chic and wonderfully androgynous, which if you’ve followed my blog long enough, you know that I’m a fan of androgynous styling. Waistcoats can look great layered over simple tees for a paired back look or over blouses for some bohemian flare.

But whilst the summer heat is on, I’m loving wearing mine with nothing underneath. It’s surprisingly cool and for this look I kept things simple with just my favourite pair of navy wide leg pants and my strappy and slightly flatform sandals.
The oval sunglasses lends a gentle retro feel to the waistcoat, whilst the tote bag keeps to those clean and contemporary lines of the outfit. I hope you like today’s outfit, let me know what you think.

Sending you my love and light,

The Investment Piece

Hey lovelies, today I wanted to zoom in on a piece that has become an absolute favourite of mine and you may have already noticed it popping up in my more recent outfit posts. Last year I had my eyes on this beautiful bag by Little Liffner because I was looking to invest in a good quality bag, a bag that is classic, understated, a bag that goes with almost everything and a bag that is easy to reach in and out of rather effortlessly. This one appeared to be by number one choice but I wasn’t a hundred percent sure on it and decided to think it over a little while longer before I actually made the investment. Anyway, last year I ended up not buying it but the thing was I really felt like all of my looks were missing a bag like this and as much I love using my black structured bag, it really isn’t the most practical and especially when Novarose is with me. So, I finally made the decision to get the bag and needless to say I have zero regrets and have been using it relentlessly! After I received this bag, I instantly knew I would have to get the other colours too. It comes in a black and cream also and thankfully I can already tick the black one off my list because I was surprised with it for my birthday (back in July) and it’s just as gorgeous as the brown. Anyway I am really loving this investment piece and that’s why I thought I would give it it’s own blogpost.

OOTD: A Contemporary Take On Sporty Styles

Happy Friday lovelies, here is a look to finish off the week. These trousers kinda remind me of a pair of classic chinos but with a much wider fit. When I first looked through these photos I didn’t like the way the trousers were hanging, they were ballooning and I felt as though the photos weren’t capturing the real hang of the trousers! But as I came to actually edit them, I ended up really quite admiring the voluminous for that they ended up taking. These photos were taken on a much cooler spring day and so a simple sweater and casual sneakers was a perfect pairing for creating a low key vibe that was somewhat sporty and contemporary. The sweater i’m westing is a really deep green colour and I know it doesn’t really show through the photos which is a shame because it is such a great colour.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend,

One Of My Favourite Looks This Spring

I think this is one of my favourite spring looks so far. I know it’s a very simplistic combination and not one that even screams spring but I just really loved how comfortable I was when I was wearing this. I also really liked how this grey knit and these beige/brown jeans (both from Olive) fitted me. The jeans hung how I hoped they would and the knit hugged me in all the right places and usually when I have new pieces, I will often find something a little off, whether that be the length or the fit of the garment, so it was nice to simply be content with my buys. When I wore this, it was one of those spring day’s where the weather was warm but with a colder wind and so this look thankfully turned out cool and warm enough for the reliability of the unreliable british weather. You may have noticed the classic Chanel bag that I decided to bring out once again, a bag that will always be dear to me, a bag that I will one day pass down to my daughter. My mum bought this for my 21st birthday (over ten years ago) I know that probably makes me sound a little spoiled and maybe I was BUT it still remains such a fond memory and to this day I am eternally grateful that I was given such a special piece and I do my best to look after and preserve its quality.

I hope you like today’s outfit.

Always Stripes In Spring

Happy Tuesday lovelies, I hope you had a lovely weekend! Here in the UK we had a bank holiday weekend, which was nice, though it was a quiet one this time and we didn’t get as much sun as the last bank holiday weekend but nevertheless having the extra day of family time is always a treat. Though I am a fan of stripes all year round, there is undoubtedly something very spring-like about them in where they feel extra fitting for this time of year. For my first outfit of 2022 that features stripes, I opted for a knitted striped piece that I invested in last spring and styled it with some cream trousers for a simple spring combination. I love this sweater because the stripes feel refreshing and make me think of sandy beaches and the sound of the ocean as this classic nautical print often does, but the knitted nature of it also feel warm and comforting whilst there is still a bit of a chill in the air.

Like I said this striped knit was from last spring but HERE & HERE are some similar styles in-case you were looking for something similar. Last year I wore this knitted sweater a lot and even throughout the summer because we have a lot of cooler summer days here in the uk and whether you pair it with tailored trousers like the ones i’m wearing or style it with something more casual like your favourite jeans, it is a great foundational piece that is versatile and integrates effortlessly into ones wardrobe. Wear with linen shorts like these HERE for a combination that is cool and casual for when it is a bit warmer or pair with a skirt like this one HERE for something a little more sleek. Like I said, it’s a super versatile style.

I hope you like my spring look of the day. Sending you love and light for the week ahead,

Subtle Layering and Equestrian Inspired

Happy Friday lovelies, I hope you have all had a good week. I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed this week, like my brains been a bit frantic, frazzled and easily irritated but I’m trying to sit with the energy and navigate through it. I’m naturally quite impatient with myself and when I feel off balance, whether it be mentally, emotionally or physically, I kind of just want it to pass almost immediately because I don’t like it and feel uncomfortable when I Don’t feel like my best self but realistically, I know it doesn’t happen just like that! We have good days, we have bad days, sometimes weeks and months of feeling off and sometimes just a weird afternoon or a grumpy morning! Accepting that life is made up of polarity definitely helps guide me through with a little more ease and reminds me of the patience I need to practice with myself. Anyway, I could dive into this topic but i’m keeping it short today because i’ve done a few lengthly posts this week.

Let’s focus on the look of today, what do you think about it? I swapped my winter coat for one more suited for spring, though I took it off for a few photos because I wanted to share with you the subtle layering of the shirt and knitted tabard underneath the blazer. I styled this with another current favourite combination of mine right now, these light wash jeans with my dark brown knee-high boots for that chic equestrian look (a combination last seen here) . I live in a part of the country where there is a lot of equestrianism around and that undoubtedly has an influence on my style from time to time. Well, I hope you like today’s style of the day. Wishing you a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend. Love and light to you,

The Styling Of a Camel Coat and Knitted Leggings

Arket Jacket – HERE Tommy Hilfiger Sweater – HERE Veja Sneakers – HERE Norma Kamali Trousers – HERE (other option HERE)

Happy Thursday lovelies and a week almost got past me without posting but thankfully I managed to pull this one together. Before we were graced with an abundance of warm spring sun that we have been lucky enough to be blessed with in the last couple of weeks, there was this outfit that I wore and though the sun was shining in part it was also blowing a rather cold wind which made warmer dressing a necessity. It was a little hard to capture but in today look I’m wearing these knitted leggings that have a flared split hem which are so soft and cosy and make for very easy wearing. I wore mine with a knitted zip up sweater, sneakers and my camel coat for hi-low mix but ultimately the vibe was more of a casual one with a sporty undertone. I hope you like todays outfit, I picked out some similar pieces in case you wanted to shop a similar look.

Statement Pieces Vs Simple Style

Happy Friday lovelies and I cannot believe we have been lucky enough to have had a week of full sunshine, this is practically unheard of in Britain! But then again I have always believed in miracles. Here is a transitional look that I wore a few weeks back, with one my most beloved pieces, this knitted cardigan by J.W Anderson that I bought via The Outnet years ago now. I think it’s a great statement piece but what I really is just how many outfits this cardigan works with. Here I wore it over a plain camel turtleneck and some cream trousers and it’s great how it picks up these simple items and transforms them and though it is still a relatively minimal look, the cardigan really does create a strong focal point. You might have spotted the Vogue magazine I have photographed and I thought I would include it because it’s quite a cute story. A couple of months ago, my boyfriend’s sister surprised me with this vintage Vogue magazine, it was Vogue’s 1989 July issue which was the month and year I was born! It is one of the most thoughtful and unique gifts I have ever been so lucky to receive. I mean what a great gift for an admirer of style and fashion. Anyway I hope you have a wonderful Friday.
