The Styling Of a Camel Coat and Knitted Leggings

Happy Thursday lovelies and a week almost got past me without posting but thankfully I managed to pull this one together. Before we were graced with an abundance of warm spring sun that we have been lucky enough to be blessed with in the last couple of weeks, there was this outfit that I wore and though the sun was shining in part it was also blowing a rather cold wind which made warmer dressing a necessity. It was a little hard to capture but in today look I’m wearing these knitted leggings that have a flared split hem which are so soft and cosy and make for very easy wearing. I wore mine with a knitted zip up sweater, sneakers and my camel coat for hi-low mix but ultimately the vibe was more of a casual one with a sporty undertone. I hope you like todays outfit, I picked out some similar pieces in case you wanted to shop a similar look.

Statement Pieces Vs Simple Style

Happy Friday lovelies and I cannot believe we have been lucky enough to have had a week of full sunshine, this is practically unheard of in Britain! But then again I have always believed in miracles. Here is a transitional look that I wore a few weeks back, with one my most beloved pieces, this knitted cardigan by J.W Anderson that I bought via The Outnet years ago now. I think it’s a great statement piece but what I really is just how many outfits this cardigan works with. Here I wore it over a plain camel turtleneck and some cream trousers and it’s great how it picks up these simple items and transforms them and though it is still a relatively minimal look, the cardigan really does create a strong focal point. You might have spotted the Vogue magazine I have photographed and I thought I would include it because it’s quite a cute story. A couple of months ago, my boyfriend’s sister surprised me with this vintage Vogue magazine, it was Vogue’s 1989 July issue which was the month and year I was born! It is one of the most thoughtful and unique gifts I have ever been so lucky to receive. I mean what a great gift for an admirer of style and fashion. Anyway I hope you have a wonderful Friday.

Almost a Decade of Lellavictoria

Happy Friday lovelies and happy October! Yes, my favourite month has arrived and the rain has been a lot recently and I’ve not really felt well this week but I still have lots of things to be grateful for and a lot to look forward to but for now i’ll go with the flow, be patient with myself and trust the direction that the universal energy is taking me in. Todays look, which was taken at the beginning of September really reminds me of my style when I was just a couple of years into blogging, my hair in a low bun, these wide leg trousers and the navy, white and black combination. It really takes me back to those early years of shooting my looks, the excitement of connecting with like minded people through the world of Lookbook and blogs alike, some of which i still remain in contact with today.

Back then I had no idea where blogging was going to take me and though compared to others my journey and successes may seem small but I try not to compare and instead take every experience I have had through this platform with absolute gratitude. I have met and connected with people that inspired me, captivated, motivated me and made my creativity feel valued. I’ve traveled to cities that I fell in love with and made unforgettable memories in beautiful places. Though my style shares continues to be the dominant fixture here on Lellavictoria.com, I have also come to love the way its transitioned as my life has and bringing more treasured family moments onto this platform documented by photography is such a pleasure for me.

Style is a passion of mine it gave me a sense of purpose that i had never felt before then and when my nephews were born and of course giving birth to our daughter I can safely say that it no longer just felt like i had a purpose but instead fundamentally I knew I had a purpose and so its natural to share that side of my life on here from time to time. LellaVictoria.com has been a part of my life for almost a decade now and I’d be lying if I said that I was bored of it because in truth I still love creating in this format. That said though, I would love to one day have the available funds to hire someone to help me create a site that feels even more personal in design and structure but for now i’m grateful to have this little space.

Thank you for visiting here today, i am so thankful.

Light Layers Amongst The Long Grass

Happy Friday lovelies, I hope this week has treated you well. It is that time of year again where it’s nearing the end of the season and I am going through all my photos from the summer, the ones that I haven’t yet shared here on LellaVictoria.com for one reason or another and I am somewhat franticly trying to get them edited before posting summer outfits starts to seem weird. These photos were taken at the end of June, which of course seems like an age ago now but I would still wear this combination now as it is kinda perfect for this muggy weather we have been having here recently, light layers make for perfect outfits this time of year. I am thinking of taking this printed dress into the early days of Autumn and swap the white shirt for a knitted cardigan and trade the sandals for some sneakers or knee high boots. In fact I did a similar early fall look last year see HERE.

Pink Knits and Dark Denim

It Wednesday I’m back with another post inspired by this week’s pink theme (see my first pink post here) I don’t think these photos do this knit enough justice but it is in fact a very soft pink. When I bought this knit, I did think it was going to be a dusty pink because that’s how it looked in the images and also how it was described but apart from that, it really is a beautiful cashmere knit and it’s GCS which stands for good cashmere standard, which means that the animals are treated with humane care. If only more companies would meet these conscientious standards. A classic crew neck knit like this or even a crew neck tee paired with a pair of high waisted wide leg jeans is one of my go-to looks. It never fails in making me feel confident and though it may be simple combination, it’s one that can be reworked time and time again without ever feeling tired. Take it into autumn by swapping sandals for ankle boots, the basket bag for leather (faux where possible) and long line coat.

Summer Blouses and Country Lanes

One of my favourite pieces I bought in the spring, are these terracotta coloured trousers from & Other stories ( unfortunately I don’t think they are available anymore) and if it hadn’t had been for the super crappy british summer weather, you would have had seen me wearing them already but like so many other pieces, I have simply not been able to bring them out due to the lack of hot summer days! But there was one weekend and I didn’t waist anytime bringing them out and styling them up! I just love their colour and well, you should know by now I am a longtime fan of the wider leg. I feel these trousers would be complimentary to many colours and styles of tops, knits and/or blouses but this time I paired them with this bohemian style blouse, a piece I bought at the end of the summer sales last year. I didn’t get much wear out of it last summer but it’s nice to style it up this time around.

The basket bag is another favourite from summer 2020 and this year it’s no different, I still love this bag as much as I did last year, it’s become such a go-to piece for me and is great for chucking everything in. Looking at these photos, it’s hard to believe they were taken just up the road from where we live, down a beautiful country lane, that is actually someone’s drive, oops! When I look at them, its could almost pass for somewhere abroad, or maybe thats just because we’ve been talking about going to Italy recently, my sister and I really want to vacation there. I would absolutely love to see the Italian countryside. But for now homeward bound it remains to be. I hope you have enjoyed todays styling.

Slouchy Summer Styles

Happy Monday lovelies, I’m excited to start this new week because it’s the lead up to my 32nd birthday! Some people like to play their birthdays down and keep it all low key but I’m the opposite of that and like to make the most of my birthday and rarely, if ever has my birthday celebrations been contained to just one day. I like to drag that baby out and make it last a whole week if I can, don’t judge me! ;). So, I just got to hope that this rainy weather will clear up just in time for the birthday celebrations to begin.

If you’ve followed me for long enough, you’ll know that I love an outfit of slouchy/oversized proportions. The shirt and pants I’m wearing are two pieces that I’ve owned for years and years and the paring of the two together is not a first but this time there was the addition of the blue cardigan, I loved how it highlighted the blue within the shirt. I even added a slouchy bag to stay in keeping with nonchalant tones of the look. A lot of people fear wearing so many loose pieces in one outfit and feel more drawn to balancing out the slouchy pieces with fitting ones and I understand that and we have to do and wear what makes us feel confident but I’ve always felt good in relaxed styles as a whole and I guess that’s because I feel comfortable and when I’m comfortable, I’m a lot more confident in what I’m wearing.

Anyway lovelies, sending you much love and light for the week ahead, Daniella x

Baseball Caps and Afternoon Walks

Happy Monday ( to those who are celebrating today, happy bank holiday monday) I hope the sun is shining where you are and that you have some nice plans to make the most of this long weekend. Here are some beautiful photos of us all that were captured between afternoon myself and my boyfriend when we were on an afternoon walk a little while ago. This is what I always imagined us doing when Nova-Rose first came into our lives, going off on big and small adventures, exploring both local spots and far away places! Then last year in the small amounts we were able to go out, I became increasingly concerned that this wouldn’t happen because Nova-Rose seemed to be very insecure abut going out and only ever wanted to be in her pram or held when we did go out.

But this year something changed, like a flick of switch, she has completely embraced her inner Moana and now loves to venture out and explore the world around her. A wonderful reminder that we just have to give our little ones time. Time to gain confidence, time to adapt to this strange and wonderful planet that they now call home. Sometimes as parents we slip up and want to hurry them along because we want them to enjoy the things that are there to be enjoyed and though thats not a bad thing, patience with our little ones is more important as well as not comparing their progress to the progress of others. This is their journey and we are lucky enough to hold their hands and guide them to the best of our ability along the way.

Style wise me and Nova-Rose had our own little twinning moment with our baseball caps and once upon a time she would not have kept this on her head but thank goodness she does now because it makes for a sweet capture. I’ve been wearing my cap non stop, mine is actually a mens cap from Barbour and in my opinion makes no difference to the fit plus I really love the colour. Links to the pieces we are both wearing (or very similar) further down the post.

Winter Black’s & Neutrals

Happy Tuesday lovelies, I hope everyone is enjoying their new week. I think this is one of favourite looks from this winter. I love classic black but I will admit I usually end up in neutrals more often than not. But like I said I absolutely love the timeless and chic appeal of black and when it gets to the last leg of winter I become much more reliant on my black pieces and especially when creativity and motivation is at a low point, a black on black outfit is a savour to my sartorial needs. For this look I bought black and neutrals together and I liked how the neutrals softened the sharpness of the black top and black skirt combo, which kinda looks like a dress. I’m also wearing my chunky boots that I bought at the beginning of the year and I don’t believe have been featured on here as of yet. I like the modern edge that a thick pair of boots bring to a classic look like this but if the chunky boot isn’t for you then this outfit would look just as chic with a heeled pair of OTK boots.

I hope you like todays look as much as I do.

Blazer & Boots

It’s hard to believe that we are about to enter the winter and like the Spring, it seems that the autumn comes and goes so quickly, there is barely enough time to truly enjoy it. But with little else to do this autumn, I made sure that I took myself out for walks as often as I could, even if it was just around the village that we live in. It is my favourite season and this year it didn’t disappoint. I was worried back in the summer because with needing to stay in and the darker early nights that come with the autumn and winter, I was concerned that mentally it was going to take it’s toll on me but I think that looking forward to seeing the autumnal views have really helped get me through. I know the winter can seem dull and long but there is magic to be seen with all the seasons and so, I am trying not to get caught up in the negative aspects of it.

Onto the outfit and as you might be able to tell, I have enjoyed wearing this classic Dogtooth blazer this Fall. It is a great staple to have in ones wardrobe and I know i’ll be bringing it out every autumn. Whether worn casual with denim and sneakers ( here) or styled in way that is evoking classic feminine elegance like in today’s look with a mid-length skirt and knee boots, this blazer will always feel relevant and can be interchangeable to ones individual taste and style.

Sending you love much love and light for the weekend ahead,

Daniella x
