Stripes, The Wardrobe Builders

For as long as I’ve taken style seriously, (in the sense of letting go of faster fashion and focusing on stable investment pieces) a stripe top has and continues to be at the very heart of my wardrobes foundation. I’ve had expensive stripe tops, very affordable ones and now I’ve landed somewhere in the middle with this style from COS. I have been wearing it for a couple of months (ever since I bought it) and in terms of fit I think this is my favourite yet, though I do prefer more of navy blue stripe where as this one looks more black. I love this roomy fit for a classic striped top and I feel it will look great with a variety of shapes and styles. As you can see I wore mine with these mensy style shorts and classic loafers for a slightly more androgynous take on summer style. I don’t know about you but I always keep a look out for stripe tops even if I’m happy with the ones I already have because like a navy knit, the white tee or blue jeans, there is always room for more of these outfit builders in Your wardrobe, wouldn’t your agree?!

Anyway lovelies, sending you love and light for the rest of your day,

Daniella x

Outfit Of The Week

1. H&M Cardigan – HERE 2. Mango Oversized Shirt (navy) – HERE 3. Denimist Trousers – HERE 4. Arket Loafers – HERE
5.Lauren Ralph Lauren Bag – HERE

My outfit inspiration for the week is this combination that features style heroes and casual classics. I am really lusting after these Loafers by Arket, the only thing that is preventing me from investing in them, is that I already have a similar style but they are a different colour, more like an orange/tan colour. I really love the dark being colour of these though, so timeless and perfect for spring. I already own the grey cardigan from H&M and I love it, definitely recommend and especially for what I consider to be a fair price. The jeans by Denimist, are something I can imagine wearing in the way I have shared today but I also feel they would look stylish with a great deal of different styles and I think they would look especially chic with a classic Breton top. I believe all the pieces I have shared today, would be worthy investments that would be considered both versatile and stylish.

Sending you love and light,

Winter Black’s & Neutrals

Happy Tuesday lovelies, I hope everyone is enjoying their new week. I think this is one of favourite looks from this winter. I love classic black but I will admit I usually end up in neutrals more often than not. But like I said I absolutely love the timeless and chic appeal of black and when it gets to the last leg of winter I become much more reliant on my black pieces and especially when creativity and motivation is at a low point, a black on black outfit is a savour to my sartorial needs. For this look I bought black and neutrals together and I liked how the neutrals softened the sharpness of the black top and black skirt combo, which kinda looks like a dress. I’m also wearing my chunky boots that I bought at the beginning of the year and I don’t believe have been featured on here as of yet. I like the modern edge that a thick pair of boots bring to a classic look like this but if the chunky boot isn’t for you then this outfit would look just as chic with a heeled pair of OTK boots.

I hope you like todays look as much as I do.

Sending you love and light, Daniella x

Last Leg Of Winter – My Coat edit

I bought this coat last winter and it continues to be my go-to during these colder months. I haven’t really invested in outwear this winter, there have been coats that I have lusted after, in-fact there has been few that I feel would fit into my wardrobe nicely but between Christmas, endless birthdays that follows very shortly after and being in another lockdown, it simple hasn’t happened. But we still have a good few weeks of winter left and even when spring hits, it will still be a far cry from the tropics. So, with that said below are a few of my favourites that I’m currently coveting and as always I try and be thoughtful to choosing pieces that have a modern yet timeless appeal.

The Wide Leg Look

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope the start to this new week treats you well. Wide leg trousers have for so long been one of my favourite, go-to styles for trousers, in fact, they are my favourite! Whether they are denim, linen, wool or otherwise, I find wide leg trousers to be chic, elegant but in an underrated way and flattering on all woman of all ages and I have always appreciated the androgynous feeling they can so often evoke. They can be dressed down with a slouchy tee and flats or they can be elevated with some heeled boots (heeled sandals in the summer) and a crisp shirt/blouse.

Today I styled mine with a classic navy knit and my chunky boots for modern and minimalist approach. This is a such classic go-to look for me and over the years, I have worn a variation of this look in one way or another and for me, it never tires. Below I have chosen a few styles that I like and I hope you will like them too. Todays post has given me the urge to add a few more wide leg styles to my wardrobe, my favourite are the COS black pair pictured below.

Cosy Cardigan’s & Lessons In Change

How is everyone’s week going so far? Today’s look is from late last year taken on a beautifully mild day. You may have noticed this cardigan is on repeat and that’s because it’s one of my favourite buys from the autumn/winter and It feels just as warm as the colour would suggest and I love its classic fit and style. It’s also a great layering piece too.

I’ve been thinking a lot in the last couple of weeks about change and not just on the grand scale but on a smaller one too. I think sometimes we need to remind ourselves that it’s okay to change parts of ourselves and it’s okay to change our minds on long standing beliefs or short ones. So often, I feel we are scared to say we’ve changed our mind on something, it’s like we feel this pressure to justify our every decision or maybe we are scared that our friends, family or loved ones will judge us if we change aspects of ourselves and or/or our belief system. Maybe you’ll be met with sarcasm or criticism when you’re open with the changes you have made and I know that feeling and I have come to belive it comes from an insecurity within others!

When someone Criticises or makes you feel small for evolving, trying something new or looking at something from a different perspective, remember that change makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable, people love familiarity and when something feels new and different, quite often it scares them and they don’t always know how to process that and so they put your changed perspectives down in an attempt to keep you at the same level that they are currently at and a level that they are comfortable with. This is likely a subconscious act but nevertheless remember not to become disheartened by their actions or words because it is not a reflection on you, instead it’s more of a reflection on their inability to evolve or be accepting of someone who is changing.

This might make you feel dis-attached to the the people you once felt close to and that can be emotionally difficult on all parties involved. But stay true to yourself and your feelings and the right people will stay and find a way to grow with you. And those who can’t, you must find a way to accept that you were in each other’s life in a time where it was right but it’s okay to move on and whether that means you find new people who are more aligned with who you are right now or you may find that you are at peace with your own company and that’s enough for this period in time. Either way keep that trust in yourself and have faith in the process that is unfolding for you, it may be uncomfortable and you may have to let some situations go but you will feel better for it.

sending you love and light,

Wishing You Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Wishing you a very healthy, happy and wonderfully abundant 2021. It’s no secret that 202o had its challenges, it caused loss for many, anxiety and worry for most and in some ways its the year we all want to forget! But I believe that 2020 also bought a lot of darkness into the light, it’s the year we gained 2020 vision and truly started to see things clearly. More then ever we appreciate our health and the importance of treating our bodies with kindness and care. We engaged with nature like never before and have truly come to understand more then ever before the damage that we are undoubtedly doing to the planet and all it’s inhabitants.

Even personally, whether we realise it or not we will have benefited from this year by persevering through the challenges that have presented themselves this year. 2020 was the teacher, the eye opener and hopefully 2021 will be the year that we can put what we’ve learnt into some practice. 2021 still has the same problems of 2020 but maybe this year we can make moves that will be more productive and I know Covid is still very much here but I’m always optimistic and Choose to believe that this will eventually end and hopefully sooner rather then later.

From the bottom of my heart I send you nothing but love, light and an abundance of health and success for 2021. Daniella x

My Autumnal Take On Bohemian Style

Happy Monday lovelies. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for the new week. Onto today’s post and admittedly the blouse I’m wearing was a late summer, sale find that I didn’t get around to wearing in the remaining days of summer. But I did find a way to adapt this beautiful blouse into my Autumn wardrobe. Whilst I am uncertain of how many times I’ll be able to style this blouse, this season, I did however, particularly love how it looked when paired with my black skinny jeans and slouchy tanned boots for an autumnal take on bohemian style. Yes, a pair of skinny jeans and your favourite boots can still be great foundations for creating an all together chic look. Finished off with a classic fedora, which I feel has and continues to be one of the greatest accessories for Fall. Below I’ve selected a few pieces that are similar to the outfit I’m sharing today in case you like anything that I’m wearing or if you want to recreate today’s outfit.

Sending you love and light for the week ahead,

Daniella x

Great Navy Knitwear

I have spoken of my love for navy sweater before and how I truly feel that because of their classic nature and diversity, there is always good reason in continually invest in a good navy knit. One navy knit is not enough, because there is crew neck, v-neck, oversized crew neck, oversized v-neck, boyfriend fit and then there are the ones that are classic with a twist and just when you think you’ve built your collection of navy sweaters, it’s easy to start thinking about doubling up, to save on the wear and tear. Maybe that’s just my thought process but let me know if you concur. These photos were taken a few weeks ago, when just a hint of autumn was in the air and I was in the mood for something that had that classic “back to school” that is so chic at that time of year. There is something very refreshing about turning to our favourite knitwear and jeans when the leaves begin, like i’m returning home. They are staples that never let us down and why they make such worthy investments. So in my attempt to push navy knits onto you, I have selected a few of my favourite that are currently available to buy. I have tried to include a varied selection, so hopefully you’ll find one that appeals to you.

Sending you love and light for the weekend,

Summertime’s Crisp Whites & Loose Linens

Happy Monday lovelies!

A little late in sharing todays post and I almost considered leaving it for another day but I thought sometimes its better to be later then never. There is nothing quite as chic during the summer months, then a crisp white shirt paired with loose fitting, linen trousers, it is the epitome outfit for achieving chic, timeless simplicity.

I often think that, for me, i’m someone if I have an idea or an avenue that I am interested in pursuing then regardless to whether I consider myself well equipped to take it on, I would rather give it a go and fail, then to not try at all. There are so many people out there who suffer at the hands of embarrassment so much so that they’ll stop themselves from trying something new or something that they have a gut feeling about. Yes, you might fail but is it ever really failing, is it actually all just forms of learning?!

To get good at whatever it is you’re trying to pursue, there has to be a certain amount of “failing”/learning in order to start achieving and if you feel like people are going to judge or ridicule you, then let them! What they’re really trying to communicate is their own frustration that they are not doing what they really want to do. By attempting to bring you down and make you feel bad, they think that they are elevating themselves but sadly for them, they are not. Also for every naysayer you have you’ll have double the amount of people who will be inspired and influenced by your courage, they just might not admit it but that’s where you just have to have faith and trust that you are doing the right thing and when you do the right thing, you motivate others whether you are aware of that or not. Be brave today and start taking steps towards your dreams. Yes, you’ll have a few fears and worries and some questions you’ll need to find the answers to but just take it all day by day, hour by hour if needs be and eventually you’ll be glad you went for it.

Sending you love and light,

Daniella x
